Scanography workshop
with Maximilian Ștefănescu
The scanography workshop offers a creative exploration of collage using the scanner as an artistic medium. Participants will experiment with objects, textures, magazine clippings, and other materials they bring or are provided with, constructing surprising images in real time. During the workshop (three hours, with 5–7 people per group), each participant will create their own visual compositions, learning how to transform a scanner into an unconventional artistic tool. At the end, each participant will leave with a selection of scanned images and practical experience of working collectively and individually.
Maximilian Ștefănescu is an electronics engineer, passionate about spontaneous black-and-white photography, country life, and refurbishing pick-up trucks and tape recorders. He discovered collage as a child, using old magazines, and returned to this practice at the age of 35, encouraged by friends, rediscovering the joy of visual compositions. Since December 2022, he has been part of the RACOLAJ group, exploring collage as a form of relaxation and connection. He also plays with scanography, digital collages, and collective collages.
