Florentin Logigan, also known as FLo (b. 1977, Suceava, Romania), creates paintings, collages, and mixed media artworks. Using abstraction, FLo investigates the dynamics of reality, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of performance based on our assumptions about what “the concrete” means to us. Instead of presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to evoke the realms of the collective imagination.
His works do not refer to a recognizable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is altered and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. By sometimes exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, he creates intensely personal moments masterfully crafted through rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, drawing the viewer into a spiral of perception—a true sensory carousel.
His works are the sum of intuitive reactions; the entire creative process is completely organic and spontaneous. Choosing predominantly formal solutions, he seeks to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria but are based only on subjective associations and formal parallels, which incite the viewer to make new personal connections. Most of his creations are based on apparent associations that open up a unique poetic vein. Multilayered images emerge in which the fragility and instability of our seemingly secure reality are questioned. Although largely self-taught, he studied under the guidance of artists/professors Cătălin Precup and Lavinia Crețu.
He is an active member of several artist circles: ROD – Sibiu, RaColaj – Sibiu, Romanian Collage Collective – Bucharest, and is a member of the Romanian Plastic Artists Association – Bucharest. FLo currently lives and creates in Sibiu.
